Iyengar Yoga is a lifelong practice. It is an art, science, and philosophy. It teaches us and challenges us to be focused, humble, and steady. The lessons we learn in the classroom and in our home practice guide us. We can take them with us throughout our daily lives, our jobs, and our relationships. It is Iyengar Yoga that brings us together as a community and for the last 31 years the Iyengar Yoga Association of Greater New York has been the hub of our education – providing a safe and welcoming environment for our studies to thrive.
Today, we ask for your support to help us fulfill our mission and keep our robust programs alive.
In 2019, almost 40 Association Teachers taught more than 110 daily classes a week; we offered 70 weekend workshops, 26 special series, and hosted 5 Guest Teachers. This year, we’ve welcomed 2,145 new students and taught more than 3,800 classes. We teach the developmentally disabled, provide a pay-what-you-wish Community Class and free classes for those with Breast Cancer and HIV, and serve those less fortunate with a $5 weekly class through our Lisa Rotell Memorial Scholarship Program. We consistently spend 80% or more of our income on running our programs so that we can provide both the depth and breadth that you’ve come to expect.
Donate today and join us in maintaining a strong and resilient Iyengar Yoga Association of Greater New York that will last for years to come.
Thank you for your studentship and your support. We look forward to seeing you in the classroom.
