Profound, intelligent, and transformative, Iyengar Yoga is for every age, body type, and fitness level. Iyengar Yoga provides practical tools to create and maintain bodily health and vitality, mental clarity, emotional serenity, and spiritual well-being. Developed by B.K.S. Iyengar during his more than 75 years of teaching, Iyengar Yoga is grounded in the ancient Indian tradition and philosophy of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.
Our teachers are rigorously trained and dedicated. Our classes focus on strength and stamina, flexibility and balance, concentration and meditation in action – our method is a pathway to complete alignment.

Iyengar Yoga is for every age, body type and fitness level. In classes, our teachers take you through a learning process that encompasses the full scope of the postures and breathing practices. True progress in the method requires prolonged and thoughtful study at each of the four distinct levels. In addition to these classes, we offer a variety of special classes.
The basis of the Iyengar Yoga method is taught in standing poses, shoulderstand and other fundamental postures including seated and twisting poses.
For students who are well practiced in Level 1 postures, including Salamba Sarvangasana (shoulderstand). Level 1 postures are refined and more complex standing, seated and twisting postures are explored. Sirsasana (headstand), full arm balance, backbends and Pranayama are introduced.
For students with substantial Iyengar Yoga training who have a solid working knowledge of Level 1 and Level 2 postures and are able to maintain a steady Sirsasana and Sarvangasana for five minutes each and do Urdhva Dhanurasana independently. Sirsasana variations, intermediate postures and seated Pranayama are taught. An independent practice should be established.
For students who have gained a proficiency in the method and who have a mature understanding of the postures through Level 3 and can hold a steady Sirsasana and Sarvangasana for ten minutes each. Students should have a well-established, regular home practice in all of the various asana categories.
Taught by student teachers from our Association, this pay what you wish class makes Iyengar Yoga available to everyone.
